Even Butterflies Have a Hard Time Leaving their Cocoons

I saw this video recently on my instagram :  the essence of the video was that sometimes we feel like we are in a stage of life for too long and we become anxious or angry with ourselves as we are wondering 'what's causing this delay, I'm ready to move on to the next level'  and we tend not to realize that if we aren't ready then we are never gonna move past that stage in our lives.

We love to talk about metamorphosis and ugly caterpillars becoming beautiful butterflies but we dont realize that change is a painstaking  process; while change may look beautiful and even motivational from the outside looking in, its some brutal shit...fueled by bad experiences and discipline. Caterpillars literally have to digest themselves to become butterflies(beautiful and celebrated), similarly a few weeks ago I took up shadow work, which is a fancy term for dealing with my childhood traumas to become a better person and it was a weird experience for me.

I've never really dealt with any of my issues I just tend to notice them and then just forget about them until I became a walking red flag filled with rage resentment and a whole lot of  mommy and daddy issues. A youtuber I love had a video where she started her shadow work journey and how it made her understand herself more and i decided to bite the bullet. I didnt have the same experience as her, it was more reiteration of things I often thought about than a life changing experience.

Change is perpetuity I thought, there is nothing more difficult and forver taking than changing to become a better version of yourself, the amount of discipline it takes is paramount and if you arent ready for change dont force yourself to because when you are not aligned with God simple things seem more complex.

You can't be who you were and who you are at the same time but even butterflies have a hard time leaving their cocoons and you cant help a butterfly exit their cocoon because they will never be strong enough to fly. Its like their final test before they bring more color to our world : Are you strong enough to shed your former self fully?

We are never going to move into another season until we fully prove ourself by passing every test thats thrown to us even though our new season seems just within our reach.

Dear friends I leave you with a verse that resonated with me for years

Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven

3:3 a time to kill and a time to heal  and a time to break down and a time to build

    Until next time friends
